The half-day graduate student orientation is held each semester and is designed to complement departmental-specific orientations by providing general information any graduate student should know regardless of their department or degree program. It is free and open to all students who have been accepted into a UNM graduate or professional program of study (even if they have not finalized their college choice).
What student wouldn't want more information about funding support? Our expert panelists will get you started on learning about the many funding opportunities for UNM graduate and professional students. Presenters will be fellow graduate students as well as faculty and staff.
UNM is a well-regarded research institution. Graduate and professional students need to know early in their academic careers some of the most important principles and guidelines for conducting research. Participants are provided with some detailed guidance about research protocols and conducting research with academic integrity.
Some say through the student experience you learn more outside of the classroom than you do inside. Participants are provided an opportunity to hear from and connect with many other student support services and organizations. Student panelists will discuss the graduate student experience during one of our sessions and tablers from various entities will be available to answer questions during the Discover Fair that morning.
Enjoy a highly informative and insightful introduction to library research that every graduate student needs to know. This session is delivered by a professor from University Libraries.
